The CRM Connection obtained pre-release access to the first free inline software patch for ACT! 2007 and ACT! 2007 Premium for Workgroups on November 15, 2007. It is scheduled to be released to the general public later this month. We have installed ACT! 2007 Premium for Workgroups 9.0a on our Windows Small Business Server 2003, Windows 2003 Server running Microsoft Terminal Server and on our Windows XP Pro computers. Our preliminary testing has revealed no new issues and has corrected the most significant issue we have run into with ACT 2007:
1. Back up your existing ACT! database(s). For instructions on backing up and restoring an ACT! database, visit the Knowledgebase, Answer ID 15206 2. You cannot run ACT! 2006 and ACT! 2007 on the same machine. Installing ACT! 2007 uninstalls ACT! 2006. 3. If you share your database with other users, either on a network or through synchronization, everyone who shares the database must convert to ACT! 2007 v. 9.0.a or ACT! Premium 2007 v. 9.0.a to continue sharing data. 4. If you synchronize via network or internet sync, you must restart the service on the computer hosting the sync service before you will be able to synchronize.
